Buffalo Once Roamed

Head Spaces

Doreen Dubreuil

Sculpture / Assemblage

Buffalo Once Roamed reflects on memory, loss, and resilience through a guardian-like sculptural form assembled from layered found materials. Organic elements such as stone, turquoise, and feathers are interrupted by mechanical fragments, symbolizing the disruption of natural and cultural systems through industrialization. The work evokes the vanished presence of the buffalo as both absence and enduring spirit.
