The Fisher King
Head SpacesDoreen Dubreuil
Sculpture / Assemblage
Exploring ritual, identity, and meaning through a densely layered surface of buttons, beads, coins, and found objects this head references masks, ancestral figures, and devotional forms. Wide eyes and circular motifs suggest awareness, cycles, and continuity. Buttons become symbols of connection, repair, and endurance, while red and white accents introduce themes of vitality, sacrifice, and balance. Created through a slow, meditative process, the work functions as a contemporary reliquary, proposing that identity is formed through countless small, repeated acts rather than a single defining moment.
